This antique Doroksh Khorasan wool floral from Rug & Kilim has a classic fish design, or Herati as it is referred to in antiquity. From Persia in 1880, this piece originates in one of the very first areas in Khorasan that began making carpet in the late 19th century. This can be seen in the very Turkish-inspired borders, incredibly fine and highly stylized with a similar kaleidoscopic sense of expansion as the field design. The field and border alike feature bright orange, rustic pink, black, and muted Beige/Brown, an intentionally mesmeric color combination meant to highlight the finely woven wool. Quick and easy to clean.
