Handmade with hand-knotted wool originating circa 1910-1920, this collectible Gabbeh wool rug is an antique Persian runner in red, blue, and beige colorway hues. This particular transitional antique Persian rug features a rare pictorial reflecting the region’s Northwest design sensibilities. The focal point of the piece is a medallion that encloses a saddled white horse. Outside of this picture, bulls guard the medallion, appearing on a red background. Lions also feature prominently throughout the piece with eight appearing on the piece’s blue background. At each end of the piece, a medallion with a goat appears within another medallion. Three borders are featured along the antique rug’s edge. The first and third matching borders feature shapes in blue, green, red on a blue background. A middle border appears on a red background with yellow details and black lines. Measuring 2’10 x 10’11, this antique Persian rug will be sold in the condition as is and would serve as a lovely table runner on a large dining-room table.
